Potty Talk

I have three potty-related stories to share:

1) Zora successfully peed in her potty for the first time on Thursday night.

2) The next time she tried to pee, she plopped herself down on the potty, waited a moment and then requested a wipe. I suggested that she might want to take her pants off next time.

3) After a bean-tastic dinner, I accidentally tooted. Zora looked up at me and asked, "Poopy?" as in "Are you?"

And You Know She Loves You When...

...she says, "I love you," for the first time on the 20-month-anniversary of being in your life.

You Know You Love Your Toddler When...

  • You see a child that's nearly the same age as yours, and instantly miss your baby even though she woke you up at 4:30 in the morning twice this week.
  • You are willing to listen to "The Wheels on the Bus" incessantly just to keep the peace.
  • She gives you a partially chewed up green olive and you eat it.
  • You think that she's especially cute after she goes rigor mortis on you and begins shrieking for refusing to give her one of those nasty, free Harris Teeter sugar cookies for breakfast.
  • You willingly perform the Chicken Dance and you are not three sheets to the wind at a wedding.

A Neglected Opportunity for Fun

We're driving down Mt. Vernon Ave. on Sunday afternoon. As we pass an elementary school, Zora rolls her head to the side and asks, "What's that?"

"A playground, baby girl," I answer.

She's quiet for a moment as we continue down the street, and then says, "Bye, bye."
